Amar started as a support worker. He still runs the houses.
Amar is the founder of Ask Mandy and the director of LME Care, a disability support provider running more than 16 supported independent living houses, over 100 community access clients and a team of more than 200 staff. He did not arrive in the sector from the top. He started as a support worker, and the questions his teams ask Mandy today are the questions he used to ask himself on shift.
Ask Mandy began with something he kept noticing in his own office. Staff were pasting questions about clients, funding and compliance into ChatGPT because it was faster than digging through the legislation. It was also a problem: sensitive information leaving the building, answers with no sources, and a tool that knew nothing about Australian law. The care sector had nothing that was safe for sensitive information, Australian based, and built on the actual legislation. So he decided to build it.
The first version was a simple chatbot that answered from the legislation and cited what it used. Every version since has come from watching real teams use it: case notes that check themselves against the standards, playbooks that turn a plan budget into a schedule of supports, alerts when the rules change, and the security that a provider with hundreds of staff and their clients' information demands of any tool.
Technology is not new to him either. Amar grew up in his family's tech and IT business, building computers and tuning software from a young age. Ask Mandy is where that background and his years in care meet: someone who understands both the legislation and the machine, building for the people doing the work.
