How to build a schedule of supports

The short answer

A schedule of supports sets out each support a participant will receive, the matching line item, the rate, the quantity and the total, all mapped to their plan budget. It helps the participant and providers see how funding is allocated across the plan period and makes claiming clearer. Built well, it shows the plan will not be overspent and links every support back to the participant's goals.

What a schedule of supports includes

For each support, list the description, the line item code from the NDIS Support Catalogue, the price from the current NDIS Pricing Schedule, the quantity or frequency, and the total cost. Group these by plan budget category, such as core, capacity building or capital, and show subtotals against the funding available in each.

How to build one

Start from the participant's plan and goals, then map each agreed support to the correct line item and current price. Multiply rate by quantity for each support and check the totals against the funded amounts. Only include supports that are reasonable and necessary and funded in the plan, and reflect what is written in the service agreement so the two documents match.

Keeping it accurate

Prices and line items change, so build the schedule against the current NDIS Pricing Schedule and update it when rates change or the plan is reassessed. Review it if the participant's needs shift during the plan. An accurate, up to date schedule reduces claiming errors and makes plan reviews smoother.
