NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27
The NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27 sets the maximum amounts the NDIS will pay for supports funded from agency-managed and plan-managed budgets. It replaced the annual NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits from 1 July 2026. Since 24 September 2026 its price limits have had legal force through a determination made by the Minister.

From price guide to Pricing Schedule
For years the NDIA published an annual NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, which combined price tables with the rules for claiming. For 2026-27 it was replaced by the NDIS Pricing Schedule, effective 1 July 2026. Its pricing appendices cover disability support workers, accommodation and capital costs, nursing and other labour supports, therapy and professional supports, early childhood supports, support coordination and plan management. It is read with the NDIS Support Catalogue 2026-27, a spreadsheet that lists each support item, its claim type and its price limit.
Item numbers carry a suffix that shows the claim type. In the therapy and professional supports part, for example, separate items exist for cancellation (_CA), non face-to-face work (_NF), provider travel (_PT), NDIA requested reports (_RR) and telehealth (_TH). Provider travel items for therapy are generally priced at half the direct service rate. Check the exact item you are claiming in the current Schedule and Support Catalogue rather than relying on codes from earlier years.
Why the price limits are now law
The Securing the NDIS for Future Generations Act 2026 gave the Minister for Disability and the NDIS the power, in section 45C of the NDIS Act, to determine maximum amounts for NDIS supports. The first determination, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (Pricing Arrangements) Determination 2026, was made on 16 September 2026 and commenced on 24 September 2026. It sets the maximum amount for a support as the amount, or the calculation method, in the NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27 or the separate Pricing Schedule for Specialist Disability Accommodation.
The NDIA can refuse or reduce a claim above the maximum amount, and providers must not charge more than it for agency-managed and plan-managed supports. The limits do not apply to funding a participant manages themselves. The determination refers to the Schedules as published on the NDIA website and in force from time to time, so an NDIA update to a Schedule can change the limit that applies. Check the version date on the Schedule before you set or quote prices.
Where the claiming rules sit now
The Schedule holds prices, not the detailed claiming rules. As at October 2026, the NDIA pricing page says updated pricing and claiming guidance will be published shortly, and it still lists the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits 2025-26 (version 1.1). The Support Catalogue 2026-27 includes claiming guidance on non face-to-face supports, travel, irregular supported independent living supports, short notice cancellations and requested reports.
Until new guidance is published, the 2025-26 document remains the most recent full NDIA statement of rules such as short notice cancellations, provider travel and activity based transport. Keep a note of which version of each rule you relied on, update service agreements when the new guidance appears, and discuss any price change with participants, who must agree to changes to an existing service agreement.
Changes expected during 2026-27
The Fair Work Commission's decision of 11 September 2026 on Schedule E of the SCHADS Award takes effect on 1 December 2026, and the government has said the 2026-27 Pricing Schedule will be updated later in 2026 to reflect any required changes. It is also consulting on differentiated pricing, which would set different limits depending on whether a registered or unregistered provider delivers the support. The NDIA's Annual Pricing Review recommended starting this on 1 January 2027, but no decision had been announced as at mid October 2026.
Separately, from 1 December 2026 claims must be made within 90 days of the support being delivered. This rule comes from the 2026 amendments to the NDIS Act rather than from the Schedule, but it affects how you bill against it. Check that your invoicing cycle, and any time spent waiting for a plan manager to process invoices, fits inside that window.
Using the Schedule day to day
Before quoting a rate, find the support item in the current Support Catalogue, confirm whether the National, Remote or Very Remote price limit applies under the Modified Monash Model classification of the participant's location, and check whether the item allows travel, non face-to-face or cancellation claims. Price limits are maximums. You can charge less, but you cannot charge more for agency-managed or plan-managed supports, and that includes adding fees on top of the limit. If a claim is rejected or a price looks wrong, contact the NDIA and keep a copy of the Schedule version you used.
